Posted by GGLTD on 05/23/2022

It’s a Monday and Monday means a new Ask DST! Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant Ltd. president DSTChuck is here to answer your burning questions, once again! Fans of Spider-Man villains and Dungeons and Dragons have spoken, as well as Nightmare Before Christmas lovers! Whatever your collecting obsession, you can submit your own question at the end of the Q&A to be featured in an upcoming episode of Ask DST! Read on to see what Chuck has to say about Marvel, Dungeons and Dragons, Tron, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and more!

Chris: Can you guys finish the last nightmare before Christmas characters?? You were so dang close. You can make one more wave and knock them all out too. Grim reaper, gatekeeper, and the snow white witch is what everyone wants to see made to finish out this series.

DSTChuck: We have talked about a Series 11 and we’ll have to see how it all works out with the folks at Disney and our sales folks.

Andrew G.: Are you going to make any Bruce Willis action figures from other movies since you did sin city and pulp fiction and captured the likeness well?

DSTChuck: We do not have any plans for any others at this point.

Jhuan M.: I would like to know if you have already considered making a line of figures from the Legend of Zelda franchise, I would certainly love and I'm sure many others would love it, an unexplored franchise with many fans.

DSTChuck: We would love to! But at this point they are not licensing out any other product lines.

Adam S.: Any chance of a Balrog for your LotR line?

DSTChuck: It’s been considered, for SURE, but it would be SO big we’re worried about how high the retail price would need to be.

Glen C.: Will Diamond Select continue the Disney Tron Line with more characters?

DSTChuck: It does not look like we will be able to, but talks are ongoing with Disney.

Bradley B.: With the release of Marvel Studios' bigger movies including Infinity War and Endgame you guys released multiple gallery dioramas for each movie. Is there a chance we will get multiple for No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness?

DSTChuck: Hopefully now that Covid has calmed down a little and movie release dates are more stable, we will be able to get the reference we need and plan better.

Austin W.: Are we going to ever get some Spider Verse or PS4 Spider-Man minimates?

DSTChuck: We do not currently have the ability to produce products based on that movie or game.

Denny H.: Just wondering if there are any plans for a retailer event this year at SDCC? Thank you for your time.

DSTChuck: I would think not, but any retailer specific event would be planned by the Diamond Comics folks.

Felix W.: Would you ever make a Sweetums Muppets Figure?

DSTChuck: If we are able to continue the Muppets line, Sweetums would be on the short list of characters we would like to do.

David O.: Will we see more spider-man villains (especially those in the sinister six) being released in the form of Gallery diorama?

DSTChuck: Yes, you will see one in late May!

John G.: Have you considered a range of figures based on the superb animated series 'Miraculous - Tales of Ladybug and Catnoir?

DSTChuck: We did discuss it, and it’s very cool, but we’re worried it is a little outside our primary fan base.
