Ask DST #443 - Star Wars, Marvel, Avatar, & More!

Steven B.: I am very excited for the announced Diamond Select Toys' Darkwing Duck figure and the Gargoyles Goliath PVC Diorama. When will more details and pictures be released of these products? Are there any plans for a full Darkwing Duck figure line? There are so many great villains from that show that would make great figures. Are there any other product announcements from Disney Afternoon shows coming soon?

DSTChuck: We have several products planned for both Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck, touching most of our key product categories – we actually just revealed our first Gargoyles mini-bust! I do not know when marketing plans to roll out the rest of the products, but I would expect to see several items at the next San Diego Comic-Con.

Michael: Are there any plans to acquire the Fraggle Rock license to make action figures? The 40th anniversary is next year, and it would be the perfect time to release them!

DSTChuck: Sorry, but it’s not in the plans at this time.

Andreas V.: Can we get more Spiderman villains for the Premier line?

DSTChuck: We’re big fans of Spidey at DST, so he and his rogues are never far from our plans!

Dominic H.: Do you have any plans on making busts from the Witcher games or show?

DSTChuck: Sorry, we do not have the rights to make product for that property.

Yusef: Are there any plans for more Avatar Last Airbender dioramas?

DSTChuck: Yes, we have several more Avatar Gallery Dioramas in the works!

Matt: The Mortal Kombat gallery series is amazing. Now that Scorpion is shipping, what will the next figures be?

DSTChuck: Unfortunately, we have had to put the VG Mortal Kombat Gallery line on hold at this time.

Jon M.: Any chance of you doing a Jupiter 2 model to go along with your Lost in Space electronic Robot? We need more Lost in Space and Irwin Allen collectibles.

DSTChuck: I am sorry, we do not have that planned at this time.

Ardit O.: I collected all 4 LOTR series and I was wondering what are we getting next as a BAF or a deluxe figure. Would love to have a 13-inch Balrog as an action figure. Any news?

DSTChuck: We are working with the license holder right now on the lineup of future series and have planned out several waves. I am not sure we will be able to do another BAF, but we shall see!

Martin H.: I have all the Diamond Select Tron and Black Hole figures, l'm wondering if there are any second waves at the design stages or did both lines not create enough profit to warrant second waves?

DSTChuck: Unfortunately, it looks like at this time those action figure lines will have to go on hold.

Phillip C.: Are there plans to release Diamond Select Premier Collection 1/7 scale Princess Leia and/or Han Solo statues?
